Under tremendous economic and political pressure, journalism matters now more than ever.
Continuously active since 1877, The Press Club of Cleveland combines a sense of community and mission for journalists, freelancers, communicators and anyone interested in the important role of journalism.
Membership is open to:
- Working journalists
- The professional communicators who work with them
- Bloggers, podcasters, writers and other independent content producers
- Everyday people who actively support the work of journalists to keep watch and report on democratic processes
What we do:
- Advocate for the institution of journalism across Northeast Ohio
- Provide education, training and mentoring to working and would-be journalists
- Organize forums to share knowledge and ideas
- Recognize excellence in journalism through the All-Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards and the Press Club Hall of Fame.
- Engage members of the community who work in or care about journalism
- Have fun!

Membership levels:
- Working Journalist: $60 per year
- Associate Member (professional communicators and others who work directly with journalists): $90 per year
- Affiliates: Any member of the above two categories who is not working in the local field (i.e. retired, living elsewhere, student or educator): $40
- $30 under 30: Special one-time rate for working journalists or associate members under 30 years old: $30 (Renews at the regular member rate of $60 for working journalist and $90 for associate member.)
